Visiting the Gabriel Foundation
The Gabriel Foundation (TGF) is a non-profit organization and offers a home to parrots who are either given up by their owners for various reasons or taken from them due to abuse, hording etc. The aviaries are in Elizabeth, CO, and worth a visit if you're in the area. The birds are inside overnight, but if the weather permits the parrots enjoy play-time in the outdoor aviaries. TGF has about 400 parrots at its location in Elizabeth, about 150 of them are cockatoos. It's a wonderful place, and every time I go visit, I love spending time with the birds!
